Congratulations to David & Siobhan married at Corpus Christi Church, and then on to a reception at the stunning Brocket Hall.

Now, to say we were nervous about this wedding was an understatement! Not because of the people, but because of the weather! It had snowed pretty heavily a few days before and heavy snow and unfortunately a lot of ice still lay on the ground.
We set off early. 7 am to be precise for a 11.30am wedding, perhaps in retrospect, it was a little too early, but if I’ve learnt one thing in my 13 years as a wedding photographer, it’s to expect the unexpected!
Anyway, as soon as we started rolling down the A12, I began to relax and really saw the possibilities that lay around us, yes! Beautiful, beautiful snow and a great venue!
David arrived on time (always a good sign) and the church, Corpus Christi, in Romford, was full of light. I have always found Catholic Fathers to be very easy going regarding photography during the service, and these guys were no different. It makes all the difference to what we’re able to produce.
The wedding ceremony was over soon enough and David and Siobhan were married...
As agreed, we didn’t stay at the church too long, it was bitterly cold and to be honest, there really weren’t any grounds to speak of. I knew that Brocket Hall would offer far more in terms of photography and Siobhan and David agreed!
And we really, really weren’t disappointed!!! Brocket Hall is beautiful, but Brocket Hall in the snow, wow!!!!
I wish some days that we could just spend the whole day taking photographs, Siobhan & David were good fun, and Brocket Hall offered up more opportunities than we were able to photograph.
It started almost as soon as we entered the gates. A beautiful scene, the trees, the snow, Brocket Hall lit in the background by the winter sun.
We flagged down the bridal car and David & Siobhan were both eager to get out and get some shots. You can’t really see them, but Siobhan is in fact wearing red wellies under her wedding dress, I like a girl who’s prepared!
Well, we clogged up the drive for about 10 minutes, I honestly could have stayed there longer, but poor Siobhan needed a drink!!!
After some much needed refreshment, we headed back outside. Siobhan had started the day saying that she would like some photography in the snow, but didn’t want to get her dress wet... by the time she’d had a champagne she wanted to RUN in the snow...
We started out just getting a few photographs of them and Brockett Hall and then, yes, she had her shot...
Anyway, after the fun outside, we had to get back to more serious stuff... the group shots. Needless to say, nobody wanted to go outside, not really a problem, Brocket Hall lends itself to photography inside it has some beautiful rooms and in particular a fabulous staircase fro beautiful contemporary group photographs.
This really, worked well, in particular, with the amazing Christmas decorations, which really added to the photography.
I don’t think I’ve seen such amazing decorations at a wedding venue before...
There are so many beautiful spots at Brocket Hall, I think you could have two weddings at Brocket Hall, and still not find them all! I’m looking forward to our next lot of photography there. It is frankly, one of the most beautifully appointed venues I have ever visited...
